Therapy sessions are generally 50 minutes, but I also offer extended sessions, which are 75 minutes. In our first session we will focus on getting to know each other a little bit. I will review some information from the consent forms, tell you a little bit more about myself and my approach, and I will ask you questions so that I can get to know a little bit about you and what you are hoping to work on in therapy together.

Throughout therapy, you can expect me to be attuned and curious about your experience, offering perspectives that you may not have considered. I sometimes use metaphor or humour in my approach and aim to gently help you increase self-trust and compassion. My hope is that you feel seen and understood, and that our work together gently leads you home to yourself.

My therapeutic approach is predominantly humanistic-existential with a trauma-informed, feminist lens. I use this approach because it resonates the most with me and what I have experienced and observed: that we as humans are affected by oppressive systems as well as trauma that we have endured, which affects the way we live. The way to heal from this, or rather, become whole is through finding meaning.

As the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important components of a beneficial experience in therapy, I use empathy, metaphor, curiosity and sometimes humour to assist clients on their journey of self-discovery and finding meaning.

I have my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Ongoing learning and growth are important to me.

The work I do in the world is inextricably connected to my ongoing and imperfect engagement with my own healing journey. My hope is that my attempt to live out the work that I offer contributes to an environment where my clients feel safe and supported in their own wellness path.

When I am not in the office, I can be found spending time with my family, taking the pups into the mountains or curling up with a great book. I’m learning how to garden to cultivate food and medicines, and learning to emphasize being over doing.

I have lived experience with neurodivergence and I am a mom of kids with complex needs. I am also a former first responder.
